THE ENTIRE MERITOCRACY
The rules are brutally simple.
Pay real money. Receive a paid rank. Pay more than the incumbent and receive a crown. Nobody transforms a marketing claim into a verified fact.
- #1
The top all-time spender is the OG. That's it. That's the meritocracy.
- #2
Anyone can steal the crown by paying $5 more than the current total. We call this 'peer review.'
- #3
Ties go to whoever paid first. Even here, being early counts for something.
- #4
Raises pay only the difference. We're a spectacle, not a scam.
- #5
No refunds. The past is non-refundable. So are we.
- #6
No accounts, no sign-in. History doesn't need a login.
- #7
Founding a new category costs $25, because inventing things has always been expensive for the second person to think of them.
THE PART A LAWYER WOULD READ
Exact mechanics
Whole US dollars only. New listings start at $5 and no listing can exceed $999,999 total. Any amount at or above the applicable floor buys whatever rank that total earns; global #1 and category crowns require a total at least $5 above the incumbent.
All-time totals every payment. Today totals a trailing 24 hours. Daily totals one UTC calendar day, and past days freeze. Equal totals sort by the earlier time the total was achieved.
The same normalized URL or X handle is one listing. Query parameters are stripped. App Store, Play Store, and GitHub paths remain distinct. Existing listings can be raised for at least $1, and nobody acquires editorial ownership by paying toward a URL.
Shorteners, chat and invite links, obvious adult domains, and screened abusive terms are rejected. New categories follow the server's generic-name rules and are de-duplicated by name and slug.
Only a paid Stripe Checkout Session changes the ledger. Sessions are processed idempotently. The webhook recomputes the category crown and resets OG since only when the holder changes.
Outbound visits use a 302 redirect with utm_source=theog and may de-duplicate the same network address for one hour. None of that makes the underlying claim true.
This is paid placement, not endorsement.
